  • Admitted 70 of over 750 applications (Spring 2007) with less than 35 students enrolled.
  • GRE, TOEFL required. (GMAT not accepted)
  • Deadline
    • Full-Time Masters in Mathematics in Finance: February 15. Applicants are encouraged to submit their application well before the deadline. Applications are read and acceptances for full-time students are made on a rolling basis starting in mid-January. Full time students are accepted only for a Fall start date.
    • Part-Time Masters in Mathematics in Finance: August 1 for Fall, December 1 for Spring.
    • Non Degree and Certificate program: August 1 for Fall, December 1 for Spring.

  • Academic Year 2007-2008
  • Tuition per point, per term $1,139.00
    • Nonreturnable registration and services fee:
    • First point Fall Term 2007 $377.00
    • First point Spring Term 2008 $392.00
    • Nonreturnable registration and services fee, per point, for registration after first point $57.00
  • In addition, international students who are on an F-1 or J-1 visa are charged an additional fee each semester.
  • All courses are 3 points. Typically, full-time students take 4 courses per semester.

Some recent and current projects by faculty and Ph.D. students include:

  • Pricing and hedging of derivative securities in incomplete markets
  • Merton-style asset allocation problems, investing in derivatives as well as the underlying
  • Analysis and numerical valuation of American options, including asymptotics of the free boundary and new methods for computing it
  • Improved numerical methods for the solution of stochastic differential equations
  • Inverse problems associated with the calibration of asset-pricing models
  • Applications of large deviation theory to the analysis of VaR
  • Pricing and hedging of options on baskets, and related issues involving dispersion trading
  • Stock-pinning, analyzed via interaction between the options markets and the underlying stock markets caused by market microstructure
  • Robust portfolio management and optimization
  • Pricing in hedging of credit derivatives such as CDOs
