Wireless Router for Quant Lab

After so many of us complaining about the wireless access in our quant lab, Max bought us one....and he also brought adater (and Russian chocholate) :- :-

I wonder if we have any budget for the quant lab ? What about we set up a pool for the routers...since it's paid out of Max's pocket ?

I have a 4-port wired router sitting here at home doing nothing. I'll be happy to bring to the lab, we just need more Cat5 wires.

I have a spare router at home with a print share port (if get a printer that will be great). If we need to laydown wire, let me know. I have done that too but all my tools are in my parents house.

Indeed, this might be against Baruch policies. I expect to have a router in place by the beginning of the next semester.

As for budget, you need anything for the lab, let me know and I will find money, within reasonable limits.

I placed an old 4 port 10MB hub there.
I believe it is ready to use.
If you need RJ45 cable, just let me know, I will bring some.

From the administration: A wireless router for the computer lab is in the works. I expect it to be up and running before the beginning of the new semester.

A followup report on the wireless service:

Baruch IT has installed wireless to our Quantnet Lab and our students have been using this since sometime last week.
This is the same wireless system Baruch-wide so you will use the same student ID and password to log in.
