Well there are many ways to convert from the %age system to the 4 point system...
1) straight division by 25 :-- say you had 95% : converting to a 4 point system yields 95/25 == 3.8
(not sure how many use this)
2) a more elaborate system of using US based grades for each course and calculating your weighted average
80-100 --> A (4)
60-80 --> B (3)
40-60 --> C (2)
you can obviously have more slots up there and make the thing finer .....
3) any other method you deem obvious, just use that that mention that somewhere..... My college had a scale from 0-10, I converted to a 4 point system by straight division by 2.5 and mentioned that...
Hi..im from india and am plannin to apply to baruch...since we follow a %age system here i want somebody to tell me how to convert it to 4 point system...probably students from indian would know how to make this conversion..
HELP!!!!!!!

yes, do indicate the method you used to compute your GPA.

wow, method 2 is quite tempting, that would make my GPA beautiful too.
kuchcha, I have a similar GPA as yours, average 85/100, ranked 5% in my major.

the method i used is the second one suggested by pardasani....so i will include the method as 60-80 is 4 and so on adn attach a separate printout indicating the marks i have scored...the point assigned to it as 3.4..and the average at the end..is this okay...

My application packet is ready but for the transcripts...i fear that might be able to get my transcripts only by the first week of december....is it advicable to first do the online application now and then send the trascripts and other papers by the first week of december or is it better to wait.... i read that applying early is advatageous and can improve the chances of getting financial aid..

wait for the transcripts, send everything at once. applying early does not really make a difference, and any time before January 15 should be considered early enough.
