Fellow students:

Isaac Newton commented that his discovery of the laws of motions was
entirely his own. He based much of his discovery upon the works of
Kepler and Galileo. Progress is made by improvements upon the works
of the progenitors.

We Baruchians may too benefit from this concept. By executive order,
I am establishing the Bureau of the Archives. The mission of the
Bureau of the Archives is to create a digital archive for each class,
and to populate the digital archive with exam questions, solutions to
exam questions (if any), classnotes, supplementary reading material,
interesting discussion threads, etc. The Bureau is tasked to ensure
that the digital archives will be open to the Baruch public, that the
digital archives will be simple to use, and that popular file formats
or standard protocols will be used. The Bureau will wide latitude in
planning and implementing its strategy.

The Bureau of the Archives should be staffed with about 3 students.
The workload should be light. Most of the initial work would be
planning. Bureau members will serve the Fall 2006 and Spring 2007
terms. After the Spring 2007 term, the President will either appoint
the same members or different ones.

One day in the future, the work of this Bureau of the Archives will
blossom from solitary file cabinets into a living knowledgebase. Who
wants to be a part of this?
