Part-time student means you take less than 4 classes a semester. You can switch between PT and FT without doing anything. You can take semesters off. The official requirement is to complete the degree in 5 years, but almost every part-time students completes it in 3 years or less.

least challenge any courses? I have a lot of C++ programming experience,
and also a CFA designation and was thinking if I could substitute with

The deadline for applying for Fall 2008 admission in April 30.

It varies, but should be less than a month since your application was COMPLETE.
