View Full Version : Logging onto computers at Baruch

Hi all,

I spoke to some of you about logging on to computers, but I think its a good idea for all to know this info. To get your ID's go to http://www.baruch.cuny.edu/bctc/username/BaruchUsername.htm and click on a link on bottom that says "Click to find your Baruch Username"
click on it and find your user ID, the pin is yymmdd (your birthdate). After you do this you will have to go to BCTC center (buidling where you got your ID, 6th floor) and try to logon to a computer there, if you can you will be able to logon to any PC i.e. in C++ class, if not then you will need speak to the helpdesk and they will walk you through it.

I called the help desk this morning and they said I should be able to log on after the system updates with my information either this afternoon or tonight. Hopefully I will be able to log on for class tomorrow night.

Has anyone else had trouble logging on to the PCs at school? I have a user name and PIN# and they work for webmail, but they don't work for the Windows logon of the PCs. I called the technology help center and they are having issues figuring out what to do with me because I haven't paid through the bursar and haven't registered through the registrar.

My suggestion is to go to the 6th Floor at 151 E25(where you got the ID) and speak to the help desk there when you try to login (I'm not sure if that is what you already did)

I think the ID thing is just so hard to predict. I don't even have a Baruch username yet. I tried SSN and YYMMDD but i got an error "there is no such SSN :)"
So I guess a visit to the help desk is what I need to do later today. Once you get your account to work, change the passowrd right away.

Bump this up for the new students coming to Baruch to take C++ refresher on Tues. If you can't log in the computer, ask the TA to log you in with his account.
